Conclusion The aim of this study was the development of a green liquidchromatographic method, exploring different parameters of greening HPLC. Various octadecyl-grafted silica columns were tested in order to investigate selectivity, resolution and efficiency parameter in green conditions for statin separation. Reducing particle sizeof column was an advantage when flow rate increased to decrease analysis time with acetonitrile-based mobile phase. However with ethanol as organic modifier in the mobile phase, this particular behaviour was no longer observed. In order to decrease solvent consumption, the concentration limit to avoid detector overload was established. Therefore concentration range used for the quantitative determination was adjusted as high as it can limit sample dilution and thus solvent consumption.
