3.1. Phenotypic means and variation
Reproductive traits were highly variable with all traits
having a large coefficient of variation across all three
generations (Table 1), with the highest being 68% for
nauplii production and 71% for hatch rate. Generation 3
produced twice the number of eggs compared to earlier
generations, but the poorer hatch rate of G3 resulted in
the production of comparable nauplii numbers to that
observed in G2.
