2.2. In vitro experiments
For the in vitro experiments, we used aorta rings from untreated
24–28 week-old SHR, that were mounted in traditional organ
baths. After the equilibration period, the rings were first contracted
by 80 mmol/L KCl to assess their functionality and when the contraction
had reached the steady state (about 15 min after the
administration), the preparations were washed until the basal tension
was recovered. Then the rings were exposed to 105 M
methoxamine, and dose–response curves to CFP (106–103 mg/
ml) were performed in the methoxamine-precontracted rings.
