Nowadays computer is undeniable necessary for every business. It helps to manage tasks easier. However there are some people, who make use of the technology in a harmful manner. A section of law has been conducted to prevent those people from doing the wrong things and helps a police tracks down the cyber criminal more efficiency. There are many sections regarding to the technology user and provider. We have brought up two interesting sections that affect directly with organizations in Thailand and their staffs.
Section 14 Whoever commits the following acts shall be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to a fine nothing exceeding one hundred thousand Bath or both:
input into a computer system wholly or partially fake or false computer data that is likely to cause damage to another person or the public;
input into a computer system false computer data in a manner that is likely to undermine national security or to cause public panic;
input into a computer system computer data that is an offence against national security or terrorism according to the Criminal Code;
input into a computer system pornographic computer data that is accessible to the public;
publish or forward any computer data with the full knowledge that such computer data is under paragraph 1, 2, 3, or 4;
Section 15 Any service provider, who intentionally supports or gives consent to the commission of an offence under Section 14 in the computer system in his control, shall be liable to the same penalty as provided in Section 14.
There are ways that we can prevent these criminal acts. An organization should strengthen their infrastructure by adding equipments to monitor and control the information flow. There are three mandatory logics an organization must have.
