In this video I explain and demonstrate how I sand and polish the clear coat on my paintjobs.
These techniques are used to give the top coat a mirror like finish and get rid of any orange peel, runs, or dust in the finish.
This is sort of a continuation of my video about painting fire with water-based paint because it is done on the helmet from that video.
For my polishing, I begin by wet sanding with 1000 grit paper. I then proceed to 1500, 2000, and 2500 grit papers, making sure to sand out all of the scratches left by previous grits.
Then I polish several times with each of my compounds using a pneumatic polisher equipped with foam pads.
I hope that you will find this video helpful and/or that you enjoyed it.
