• Monitor Global product movement, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and lot codes to maximize service level while meeting or exceeding controllable expense budget. Regularly review levels in Godiva's inventory system, and compare them to inventory reports from the 3PL's WMS. Analyze changing sales trends and compare to forecast to identify potential issues, and communicate issues to production/planning.
• Participate on cross functional teams, collaborate with Regulatory team, and own the international logistics responsibilities for new products and markets such as shipping ice cream to Japan or chocolate to Dubai. Investigate and resolve all associated transportation issues, special handling requirements, and documentation needs. Communicate findings to team and coordinate all aspects of the associated transportation.
• Resolve customs clearance issues for Godiva imports and exports. Investigate governmental regulations and restrictions, local cultures, special transportation needs, etc., and work with freight forwarders and vendors to resolve any issues.
• Independently perform distribution studies for international transportation. Gather the data through queries, TMS data base and IT support. Analyze reports and distribution trends to recommend and implement initiatives for improving service or reducing cost. Convert all costs to the appropriate currency, validate the results for accuracy and organize the results into presentation form.
