Oak Ridge Military Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The academy is also associated with several other prestigious organizations, including the Association of Military Colleges and Schools (AMCS) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
The academy is the second oldest military school in the country, and the school was also the first military boarding school in the country to accept young girls. Young girls were first accepted in 1854, but the school refused to admit girls between 1929 and 1971.
Students can participate in a wide variety of sports, including football, baseball, tennis, and soccer. The Drill Team is also one of the most active extracurricular activities on campus. The academy’s mascot is the Cadet.
The tuition for Oak Ridge Military Academy is significantly lower than the average tuition costs for similar institutions.
