Assumptions used with limit of detection
For the purposes of the current risk assessment, the presence of residual levels of ECH was taken to be an indicator of an ETO fumigation event. Therefore, samples that had measurable levels of ECH but less than detectable levels of ETO were assigned a value of 1/2 LOD for ETO residues, or 1 ppm. If no ECH was detected, samples were assigned a value of zero for
ETO. For ECH and EBH residues, a non-detected result for ECH was assumed to indicate zero ECH or
EBH in the sample.
