Bank of America Corporation (Bank of America) is a bank holding company and a
financial holding company. Through its banking subsidiaries and various non-banking

On January 1, 2009, Bank of America announced the purchase of Merrill Lynch & Co.,
Inc. On July 1, 2008, Bank of America completed the acquisition of Countrywide Financial
Corporation [5].
