But for these creatures that’s no big deal since they have a nice, supportive exoskeleton that works just fine, thank you.
Like all invertebrates, spiders and scorpions, are cold-blooded...
... meaning their body temperature is not internally regulated...
... like mammals...
... and birds...
... but is dependent upon the temperature of the environment around them.
But being cold-blooded is not only a characteristic of invertebrates: fish are cold-blooded, too...
... as are amphibians...
... and reptiles.
Interestingly, our two other scary creatures are as cold-blooded as the crocodile.
What are they? Snakes...
... and sharks.
