Dear tong451,
Congratulations. By opting in to hassle-free returns, you’re in a better position than ever to attract more buyers to your listings—and spend a lot less time handling returns.
Now that you’re in, we want to make sure you have a clear idea of what to expect—and what steps to take—anytime a buyer requests a return:
• To initiate a return, buyers will now simply print a return label right from My eBay. When they do, you’ll be notified by email right away.
• Tracking for the return will be uploaded automatically to My eBay—so you and your buyer know exactly where it is, and when it should arrive.
• Once you receive the returned item, check it carefully. If it’s okay, just click “issue a refund” from My eBay within 6 days of getting it back. And don’t forget—you’re protected by eBay’s item condition policy.
• Once the refund’s been issued, your final value fees will be credited automatically—and you can relist the returned item for free.
Before requesting a return, some buyers may contact you through eBay member-to-member communications—so make sure you respond to questions as quickly and thoroughly as you can. In the rare case there’s an issue with a return, it’s best to try and work it out with your buyer first. Then, if you’re unable to reach a resolution, you can always ask eBay to step in and help.
Without a doubt, offering a confidence-inspiring return policy helps make your listings a lot more competitive. We hope you start seeing the difference in your business very soon.
Sincerely,
The eBay Selling Team
