Transmission
Automatic transmissions are easy to destroy and costly to replace. The first thing you should do is check the transmission fluid. Pull out the transmission dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth. Put it back in all the way, and then remove it again. If the level is low, you might have a transmission leak. Drip some of the fluid off of the stick onto a flat piece of white paper; it should be clear and free of any grime or metal flakes. When you drive the car, be aware of how long it takes for the car to shift between “park,” and “drive” or “reverse.” Also, these shifts should be smooth, without any jerking or clunking.
