India shipped 1.2 million mt of raw sugar in the year ended September, including 700,000 mt with financial incentives from the government, according to the Indian Sugar Mills Association.
In Uttar Pradesh, demanding an upward revision of minimum support price of sugarcane, Bhartiya Kisan Union today said the price announced by the Uttar Pradesh government is "unacceptable" to farmers as it favors sugar mill owners.
