If the tree was old and posing a threat to the school, then of course it should have been cut down. I understand.
Now the question is: what shall we do about replacing it? The view from my apartment is completely ruined and I'm sure it has reduced its sale value. If I thought you might cut down the tree one day, I would not have bought that apartment and I think it will now be much harder to sell it to someone else at the market price. So could we please plant a replacement, mature and healthy tree - or two?
