Koh Ker temple : Koh Ker temple complex once used to be a capital city in Angkor Era—but not located in Angkor area. It is about 80 kilometers northeast of Angkor complex or about 50 kilometers west of Tbaeng Meanchey of Preah Vihear province. This capital city was built by King Jayavarman IV (AD 928-941), when Angkor throne met the crisis in the royal family. Jayavarman IV brought Devaraja (Shiva linga)—the holy doll of the Kingdom with him from Angkor city to Koh Ker in AD 921, and then declared himself as a King. In his capital, he built a huge 7-tiered pyramid temple with 40 meters high.
