A formal disposal policy and procedure should be established and should describe the following:
- Disposal process of erroneous printout.
- Timeframe for shredding erroneous printouts
- Disposal process of control sheet.
- Certificate of destruction.
In addition, the formal policy and procedure should be approved by management and communicated to the relevant staff.
The importance of adhering to the disposal process should be communicated through mediums such as email, security awareness training and department meetings.
