This study investigated how the excess bagasse can be used as a
renewable source of CO2 and energy for algal biodiesel production.
The objectives were to: (1) define the energy and material requirements
of an algal biodiesel production process; (2) identify bottleneck(
s) of process; (3) generate a computer simulation model to
investigate algal biodiesel production at a cane sugar mill; and
(4) address bottlenecks by integrating available resources from a
sugar mill without sacrificing sugar production
