The opening of the envelopes (treated and inoculated
with larval ticks) was folded ( 10 mm) and re-sealed
with metallic clip, with its identification mark (tested
solution and concentration) on the outside. The packets
are placed in the BOD incubator at a temperature of 27–
28 8C and 85–95% RH for 24 h. The envelopes was
opened 24 h after exposure and inspected using a
stereoscope, to record the number of live larvae,
mortality and any toxicological effects observed. In
order to allow direct comparison with the results of
previous authors, immobile larvae were scored as being
dead.ape.
