The development of robust and costeffective
micropatterning methods are thus an important aspect of
fundamental research in this area. Self-assembling processes oftendepend on the procedures that are employed or on the nature of
the mediating molecules [10–12]. For example, a simple physical
method using a silicon pore template has been developed for
the fabrication of monodisperse gold microwires [13]. In addition,
chemicals such as citrate and amines have also been successfully
employed for their production [14,15].
