. Silk weaving and so silk textiles have been a part of Thai culture for a long time. In the past, Thai women traditionally wove the silk for their personal and daily use only. This wisdom thus has been passed from generation to generation in Thailand. Until now, silk weaving is still practiced as a part of some Thai women’s daily life. Apart from weaving for personal use within the household, the silk is widely sold domestically and internationally in order to generate income to the family and the country. The well-known project “One Tambon One Product (OTOP)” in Thailand is a good example demonstrating that there are many silk products available successfully in the market. Continuity in production and promotion of Thai silk to be widely accepted both in national and international levels is therefore the significant issue.
