Agriculture spends millions of dollars convincing the public that agriculture isn't poisoning the public. After all, that would not be sustainable agriculture if we killed off all our customers.I do plant GMO seed corn because I don't have to use insecticide with it, and my herbicide rates are lower. Some say we should call it "genetically enhanced," but we're all adults here and who are we fooling? My GMO seed takes care of insects and disease problems just by adding a protein in the genetics of the plant. If I wanted to control these pests and insects without a GMO product, I would have to spray my fields multiple times. That creates more expense and using more pesticides that could enter ground water.
