4. Conclusions
The consumption of chicken meat and eggs are increasing due to its availability on reasonable prices. However, the considerable finding levels of AFs, OTA and ZEN in chicken meat and eggs are alarming for the health as well as the economy of the country. Therefore, urgent steps should be taken to monitor and control these toxins in chicken meat products. The strict permissible limits should be implemented to avoid fungal contamination.
