The IS implementation model describes antecedent factors along various dimensions: specialisation
networks (organisational); hostility and competition (environmental); compatibility, complexity
and relative advantage (technological); autonomy and responsibility (task related) and cosmopolitanism
and education (individual) factors. Both the IS implementation model and the IS success model
are synergistic in context and robustly encapsulate the theoretical stance needed for examining the
influence of antecedent factors for competitive advantage. Such an examination is also consistent with
RBV theory conceptualisation (Taher, 2012). Therefore, we select factors for this study by drawing on
these two models, as discussed in the next section.
