addition, Miss L required medications for tertiary prevention. The usual discharge medications for adult patients with asthma were oral glucocorticosteroids for at least seven days (GINA, 2012; ornato, 2007). According to the GINA guidelines (2102), patients who had both oral and inhaled glucocorticosteriods have a lower risk of relapse than those who only had oral glucocorticosteriods. Hence, besides bronchodilator to manage symptoms, Miss L should also continue to use inhaled glucocorticosteroids on top of oral glucocorticosteroids. To maintain stability, Miss L must be advised to adhere closely to the medication regime.
