It is very rare that I write a review that I feel let down by a hotel, but the Anantara could not be saved by friendly staff. The hotel is dated and needs a refurb. The layout of bathroom is poor though, don't like that there is little privacy and other small annoyances like no place to hang towels by shower or hand towels by sink. Good sized sitting area and very clean.
We started in a spacious seafront suite but after the noise kicked off at 6.30am with heavy furniture being dragged above our heads we were moved to the back building. The rooms were in better shape there but the noise continued with drilling and hammering. I heard others complaining by the pool. This was the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed. The breakfast was good.
Pool was good, but there was an overall sense of shabbiness.
