This paper is focused on the review of the development and application for automotive energy
Life-cycle Analysis(LCA) models. A summary on the studies of multi-pathway comprehensive analysis
and individualized studies of automotive LCA models in China is also made, which gives out some key
results. There are obviously regional differences in international research on LCA including the
development of models while only several pathways have been researched without any LCA models
specified for Chinese condition. In addition, research on such key issues as allocation methods of
co-products, switching on power fuel and diversity of vehicle manufacturing cycle needs more
reinforcement. Finally, the future research on life-cycle analysis of automotive energy consumption and
GHG emissions is indicated.
