A secondary purpose of the study was to evaluate the effects of this fluency training on the students’ on-task and word reading accuracy. In general, paraprofessionals increased their praise rates and error correction accuracy with fluency training. For paraprofessionals with low baseline presentation rates, training resulted in higher rates of accurate presentations. For three students, on-task behavior increased in level (Luke and Todd) or decreased in variability (Claire) during paraprofessionals’ fluency training. Student reading accuracy remained relatively high throughout the study for most students, showing little effect of the training.
