Budding young actor Tana 'Bomb' Eamniyom talks about 'Love Summer' and his ambitions to start a band

When Tana "Bomb" Eamniyom was a teen, his ambition was to be a musician and form his own band. Fate had other ideas. The young star of teen movie, "Love Summer: Rak Talon on the Beach" found his way into the entertainment business after doing a spot of fashion modelling for Cheese magazine.

"It's way above my expectations," says Bomb, 23, a new graduate of the Communication Arts Faculty of Chandrakasem Rajabhat University, smiling after the press conference for the movie.

His fashion photos, he explains, caught the eye of talent scout Supachai "A" Sriwichit's eye. That led to a part in the music video of Sek Loso's "Mai Yom Tad Jai" and then more music videos.

This year, he's emerged as an actor on both small and big screens. He was cast as Ken, the flirtatious and wilful son of a millionaire family in Channel 3's drama "Kularp Rai Klai Rak" then landed the role of Jack, the teen of few words, in the first movie by rookie director, Trilak Makmeongpad.

"The movie is about a journey, love and friendship. A group of teenagers follow their dreams and prove the importance of friendship. Jack is a reticent guy who spends his most of time on his computer at home, chatting with his only friend, George [played by Thanwa Suriyachak]. Jack and George decide to go to a full-moon party in Phuket and on the way pick up Khaimuk [actress Pimchanok 'Bai Fern' Luwisetpaibul] and Yui Tatsumi [popular Japanese adult-video star], and Bob [Jonathan Sampson]," explains Bomb, who spends much of his time playing the Facebook game "Crime City".

The mature youngster says he didn't know anything about Yui until he met her on the set. Did he find it easy to work with her on their love scene?

"Actually, it's kind of a funny love scene," he says.

So what's the hardest scene for him?

"All scenes where I had to express emotions were hard, especially the one where Jack and George are discussing a girl. George says, 'no matter how many friends you have, a close friend is the only one that matters'," he says.

With his movie career on track, Bomb is now planning to go ahead with his dream and form a band with his friends from Navamindarajudis Krungthepmahanakhon School. He has two guitars, a Fender acoustic and Washburn, and is looking at a new one, a Fender Telecaster American Standard. He likes Japanese rockers X Japan and Dir en Grey as well as the Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana and says his new outfit will probably focus on alternative or garage rock style music.

"In the beginning, I got my music influence from my father," says Bomb, who has a collection of T-shirts of rock bands like the Misfits, Guns N' Roses, Incubus, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix.
