For an advocacy project conducted at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010 through the course ‘‘A Case Study in Breastfeeding and Human Lactation’’ (Spatz& Sternberg, 2005), three PNP programs in the greater Philadelphia area were surveyed about the incorporation of evidence-based breastfeeding and lactation content within their curricula. The purpose of the advocacy project was to promote breastfeeding awareness in the community (Spatz & Sternberg, 2005).
