Results obtained in the current
study were consistent with results by Pappas et al. (2010)who reported
that 1 mass% Pal inclusion (as pellet binder) to a corn–soybean meal
basal pellet diet did not affect the body mass, feed conversion ratio as
well as mortality of broilers. However, Zhou et al. (2014) reported
that a combination inclusion of zeolite and Pal at a level of 2.0% (mass/
mass, 1/1) somehow promoted the growth performance of broilers.
The zeolite used in that study by Zhou et al. (2014), and variations in
the physical and chemical properties of Pal may account for this discrepancy.
As indicated in the Table 2, the nutrients content in the diets as
metabolizable energy, crude protein and amino acids were minimally
