The night sky seemed to split in half as the once pitch black night was illuminated brightly by the lightning. The thunder that always seemed to follow afterwards finally seemed to roll around as you and your best friend, Romania sat calmly on the carpet floor of the his grand living room. Well, as calmly as you could. You shivered as another loud boom filled your ears, the dark room lighting if only for a spilt second. A shiver ran down your spine as you nevously waited for the storm to roll over, the game lying in the middle of the both of you remaining untouched for quite some time. Your hands wrapped around your form tightly, as if hugging yourself for protection. Although you could not see your childhood friend in front of you, you heard the rustle of his trench coat as he awkwardly moved around on his spot on the floor. You blindly let a hand out, attempting to feel for the silhouette in front of you.
But you didn't know that he could easily see you, his blood-red eyes scanning your scared face before reaching his own hand out and intertwining them together. His strawberry blond hair fell slightly in his face but he lightly blew it off, his fanged tooth digging into his lip as he attempted to find the words he wanted so desperately to say. His mouth opened as the seconds seemed to tick by before closing it, a uttetly helpless look crossing his face. He looked at you in bewilderment as he watched you slowly inch closer, fighting the growing fear inside you as the raging storm held on. Your finally had managed to sit next to him, your head resting lightly on his shoulder as a shaky sigh left your lips. A light blush stained his cheeks as he slowly turned his head, carefully watching your movements as you attempted to calm yourself only to fail.
"Romania?" Your voice cut the silence as you shakily spoke, your arms wrapping around his waist. You had grown close to your friend over the 22 years you had known each other and you felt comfortable getting closer to your friend, although you had no idea how much it made him crazy.
"Hmmm?" He responded in a monotone manner, trying to hide the embarassment he held in your voice. His blush grew deeper as your actions continued, the scent coming from your exposed neck driving him to the point of insanity.
"You're acting weird today. You don't seem like yourself." You looked up at his darkened face. The only thing you could manage out were those red eyes of his. The fact that they always seemed to illuminate in the dark still seemed to atonish you but you briefly pushed it to the side as you waited for a comment from the man beside you. Anything to acknowledge your remark.
"They say that when you preform magic in the beginning of a storm, you are never the same for the rest of the day." You face formed into a look of distaste as you hit him softly on the arm. He remained unfazed as you did so though, his eyes still looking deeply into your own.
"Shut up! You know how much I hate that stuff! Especially that supernatural crap that's everywhere now!" You don't know if you had imagined it but you felt him flinch as the words left your lips, his eyes casting downward as you remarked on something that you held no liking for. You were about to question him once again but he cut you off as he abruptly stood, leaving you alone on the floor.
"Well I'm gonna go see if they have any batteries at the nearby store so we can turn on some sort of light!" His normal attutide seemed to appear as you watched his shadowed form walk briskly to the door, the smile on his face seeming to creep through his words as he spoke. A hand reached out in protest and the frown on your lips grew deeper as your (insert eye color here) eyes filled with a scared look.
"Wai-!" But you were cut off as the door in front of you slammed shut. Your eyes cast downward as tears formed around the brims, your body flinching as the thunder and lighting began to control your thoughts once more. Your body began to move closer to the black leather couch behind you, your back hitting the edge as you curled into a ball. The thunder had returned, appearing with two sharp noises instead of the usual one. You shook it off as your imagination though, unaware that the man behind the closed door had slammed his fist on the wood seperating the two of you before briskly turning around to slowly walk towards the convience store nearby.
