The World Bank recommends that the law should specify that the NMWC has to review the minimum wage level at least annually or every two years (with the possibility of calling interim emergency meetings). The evidence shows that allowing too much time between reviews introduces the risk that a perfectly adequate level set for a specific context at a given point in time can become either irrelevant (too low) or damaging (too high) as circumstances change. It is important to keep in mind that the reviewing process does not necessarily imply a modification of the level. In some circumstances, the NMWC may
decide not to change the level after a careful analysis of all available information.
