Empowerment and participation had the highest frequency among the three types of leadership
practices, accounting for 40.15 percent of the respondents. To see if the number of KG teachers
with different perceptions of their principals’ leadership style differed from what would be
expected if each style had an equal number, a chi-square test was carried out for the 221 respondents
who gave the highest average rating to only one of the three leadership practices. As can be
seen in Table 4, the results were significant as the probability is smaller than .05.
