However, one disadvantage of this process is the decline of reaction rate during reaction with the conversion of Fe2+ to Fe3+, which also leads to the difficulty of iron recovery from the solution. Recently, heterogeneous Fenton systems containing solid iron phases have received a great deal of attention due to their advantages such as facile recovery and recycling [2–6]. However, the reaction rate of heterogeneous Fenton catalysts was commonly slower than that of
homogeneous catalysts. In order to improve the rate of catalytic degradation reaction, most heterogeneous Fenton systems require external energy input, such as irradiation with ultraviolet light [7–9]. Therefore, it is still challenging to develop a highly efficient and low leaching heterogeneous catalytic system without any external energy input [10,11].
