from 34% to 14% were observed. A ZSM-5 catalyst was used to convert
methanol into gasoline range hydrocarbons [24].However,ithad
high yields of aromatic hydrocarbons while most of acids and esters
produced were then converted to gas, water, and coke. Olivine is a
natural mineral which contains magnesium, iron oxide and silicon.
Magnesiumand iron cations are embedded in the tetrahedral silicate
matrix [25]. Its catalytic activities to enhance the production of
hydrocarbons have been widely studied in the biomass gasification
[26–28]. In this study, activated olivine sand was used to promote
low temperature oxygen removal while preventing excessive for-
mation of aromatic structures.
