3.3. Comparison of EPBA and MA
The folic acid content of the folate fortified breakfast cereals as analyzed by EPBA kit and MA is given in
Table 1. The comparison of folic acid values between the two methods did not show much difference (considering the standard deviation). The average difference between EPBA and MA values for all fortified foods in this study was 1 lg=100 g sample, the difference being non-significant at the 0.05 level (one way ANOVA). Similarly, comparison of folic acid values (of three assays) of individual fortified foods determined by two methods using one way ANOVA showed no significant difference (p0:001) when measured by the Wilcoxon two sample rank test
