Thais use only a spoon and fork when eating. The spoon is used to scoop up the food for eating, while the fork is used to push food onto the spoon. If food on the plate must be cut before eating, the edge of the spoon is used, like a knife, to cut it. The meal should never be rushed, and is almost always accompanied with good- natured conversation. Any type of drink, or none, may be served with the meal, but, a very cold Thai beer may taste extremely good if many spicy foods are served.
