In a free trade zone (FTZ), an enterprise can make its supply chain simple and
efficient, as well as have access to a low cost and high quality logistics infrastructure
(Zhang and Figliozzi 2010). Doing so can avoid a complex supply chain
with undeveloped logistics facilities and local policy restrictions. In 2006, the
gross freight volume passing through free trade zones accounted for 6.2 % of total
volume in China (Economics development analysis for free trade zone 2010)
