LDHs might be recognized as one of the interesting candidates through all the nano materials
due to their own special characteristics such as; lamellar structures, high surface areas, acidic
and basic properties, high ion-exchange capacities, economic and the versatile and easy
methods of preparation. LDHs (or hydro-talcites) are sometimes referred as anionic clay
mineral due to their ability to intercalate with negative anions, in contrast to cationic minerals
that are naturally exist such as zeolites. The LDHs generally follow the formula: [M+2
1−X
M+3
X (OH)2]+x (A−n)x/n.m.H2O, where M+2 and M+3 correspond to the divalent and trivalent
metal cations, x is the coefficient of M+3 to M+2 + M+3 which frequently ranges from 0.18 to
0.33 [9]. This in fact gives a high variety of iso-structural materials. A represents the inter
layer anion and m refers to the count of water molecules.
