The results of the study answered the
research questions and fulfilled the aims of the
study. The result of the first and the second
research questions asking the level and the
frequency of inference strategies used in each
stage of reading, it was found that high
proficiency students “always” used the
strategies and the usage was at the highest
level. Average proficiency students “seldom”
used the strategies and the usage was at a
moderate level. Low proficiency students
“seldom” used the strategies and the usage
was at a low level
