To test Hypothesis 1 beyond the regression analysis, a slope difference test (Dawson & Richter, 2006) was computed that indicated a significant difference between the two regression lines for children from high-conflict homes in the expected direction, t(48) = 1.69, p = .049. That is, at high levels of inter parental conflict, children’s attention performance varied as a function of experimental condition (exposure to couple conflict vs. controls) and physiological arousability.
