3.2. Multivariable ordered logistic regression
As shown in Table 5, concern over the top-three diseases was associated with shelter type and desire for zoonotic-disease training. When compared to no-kill or sanctuary type shelters, open-admission shelters expressed greater concern for the top-three diseases. Those shelters with greater concern for the top-three diseases also showed a greater desire for training in zoonotic diseases. Annual intake (P ≤ 0.01), number of full-time staff (P = 0.03) and number of part-time staff (P = 0.05) were not included in the final model but were found to be associated with shelter type. Desire for infectious disease training (P≤0.01) was not included in the final model but was found to be associated with desire for zoonotic disease training.
