The aim of the work was the substitution of
the accelerator zinc diethyldithiocarbamate with
other accelerators, because of the carcinogenic
nitrosamines of the former, and at the same time
to study valuable properties of the vulcanizates. It
was shown that NR latex films vulcanized by a
combination of accelerators ZMBT/DPG may have
a similar network structure to that obtained by
ZDEC. Moreover. , suoI erior mechanical oAr oo1e rties should be expected. Considering the film properties
prior to ageing, and the same properties after
thermal and ozone degradation, the concentration
range of O.SO/O.SO to 0.62/0.62 phr ZMBT/DPG
may be regarded as the optimal one in the examined
latex compositions.
