The indoor culture and overwinter of Onchidium are reported in
this paper for the first time. The result will benefit other researchers
studying Onchidiidae. The temperature of starting overwinter
(13.8 °C) is not the same as the 20 °C reported by Shen Heding et al.
(2004a), and the beginning of the season is different from the October
represented by Qiu Liyan (1991). Naturally, when the temperature
decreases to a given level, Onchidium will crawl into the caves of
crabs. The temperature in the holes is higher than the air temperature
because of the earth's heat. Therefore, the temperature in the holes is
high enough to hibernate successfully.
