In males in their 20s, the ratio of AT to peak ˙VO2 was

was no apparent difference in the ratios between cycle ergometer
testing and treadmill ergometer testing. Since peak ˙VO2 declines
more than AT with age, and there is less gender difference in AT
than in peak ˙VO2 , the ratio of AT to peak ˙VO2 increased with age and
showed a tendency toward being higher in females than in males
(Table 3). These observations were consistent with those of other
reports [19].
