Lavender oil was characterized by the relatively high content of linalool and linalyl acetate. Bicyclic terpenes give a different profile in the rosemary and the sage essential oil composition. Eucalyptol was the main compound in rosemary oil, followed by borneol and a-pinene. In sage oil, the predominant constituent was also eucalyptol in percentage almost two times higher compared with that of rosemary. Camphor and a-pinene were also present in high amounts in sage oil. In the case of pennyroyal oil cis-menthone and pulegone were the main compounds. Trans-menthone (1.2%), cis-menthone (15.0%), pule- gone (76.5%) and piperitone (0.6%) consisted the 93.3% of the total oil. The oil yield from pennyroyal was only 0.3 ml/100 g of dry wt.
