Based on the results of this study, we can conclude that conventional PCR is a satisfactory method for the detection of GMOs,even in highly processed food products; the screening method can also be used successfully as a starting point for trait-specific identification and quantification methods. However, the extraction methods we used are still not sufficient for certain products, such as some starch, oil and lecithin samples.
