Furthermore,
increasing communication by task conflict cannot mediate
team performance. On the other hand, decreasing
communication by relationship conflict reduces team
performance. Zhang [14] conducted a literature review to
identify factors influencing communication in DSD and then
proposed a conceptual model about communication
effectiveness. The model considers two types of
communication: social and task communication. The former
refers to the interaction between the team members, and the
latter to the information exchange about tasks. The model
combines behavioral and technological factors, bringing a
new approach to the communication in distributed teams.
