Report of the Risk Management Committee
The Big C Supercenter Public Company Limited (BIG C) has conducted Enterprise Risk
Management to be utilized within the organisation since 2008 through the administration of the
Risk Management Committee that comprises 11 high-ranking executives under the supervision of
the Good Corporate Governance Committee and the Board of Directors. Furthermore, the
Company performed risk management within the organisation and its branches, as well as
continually followed the risk management plan under the established policy and organizational
framework. This created accepted confidence in the Company’s ability in performing risk
management and reducing risks that could occur within the organisation.
The year 2009 was a period of great change and uncertainty in the Thai economy that had
originated from external factors; for example, the decline in global economics, as well as internal
issues; e.g. political instability. This affected the Company’s business operations. The Risk
Management Committee had a resolution that emphasized on the risk management that would
create a negative effect on the 2010 marketing strategies and business plan of the Company. This
