Bill Eden's purpose in Florida was to represent Sturdivant on installation question with the computer contractor, make preparations for the acceptance test of the machine, and generally keep track of progress on the operating system. He did not have a great deal to keep him busy. His workday soon settled down and became rather routine.A great deal of the time he merely stood by in the computer room observing the work being done by the contractor's personnel. He was always willing to take on special jobs suggested by Johnson from time to time and relished the opportunity to do something tangible. Fred Smith was kept busy running detailed computations for Abrams.
